Mohammad Ismail Rahimi was born in 1977 in Kabul, Afghanistan. After graduating from Habibia high school in 1994, he joined Medical Faculty of Balkh University in 1996 a nd he earned his MD in 2003.Afterwards, In March 2008 he completed his MBA from Mariam Rashid Khan University. Moreover, In June 2009 Mr. Rahimi obtained his second Masters in Policy Economics from Williams College University from United States of America.Mohammad Ismail Rahimi has served in various Government positions and International Organizations. In 2001-04, Mr.Rahimi began working as Regional Manager of “Youth and Children Development Program (YCDP) to increase the participation of Afghan Youth in the development process of Afghanistan. In 2004-05 he worked as Community Development Coordinator with “Mercy Corps” Urban Community Empowerment project. Later on, he worked as saving and investment program officer with “UN- Habitat” Literacy and community Empowerment project. From 2007-2008 he began working as Sector Coordinator for “Afghanistan National Development Strategy” (ANDS). His efforts have paved the way for the implementation of “Afghanistan National Development Strategy” (ANDS). Moving forward in his carrier, he joined Ministry of Economy of the Islamic Republic of Afghanistan as Poverty Reduction Expert then from 2009-15 he served as General Director of Policy and Result Based Monitoring. During this time, he played an important role in the capacity building member of Ministries Staff on RBM. In addition to Mr. Rahimi’s engagement in different positions, he also has number of publications and papers on several important topics of Current Global Crisis and Developing Countries Response, Governments Effectiveness and Appropriate Social Protection Intervention, National Solidarity Program Implementation Success and Constraints, Social Protection and Sustainable Growth.On 29th July 2015, Mr. Mohammad Ismail Rahimi was proposed as technical Deputy by H.E Abdul Sattar Murad Minister of Economy and appointed by H.E. President Mohammed Ashraf Ghani.
